Unity in the Body

Acts 2:42-47 — They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer… All the believers were together and had everything in common…They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

We see how we can have an impact on our neighbors by first spending personal time with God and then developing a lifestyle of PRAY-EAT-LOVE, while using the tools given to be effective at sharing the Gospel. But certainly each of us can only do so much, and reach a finite number of neighbors. So how do we accomplish the mission of reaching EVERY man, woman, and child with repeated opportunities to hear, see, and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ? By doing it together…as One Body. This is where the greatest power and greatest joy comes in, when we can celebrate with other Christ-followers who are also our neighbors.

Questions:
1. Do you know any other believers in you neighborhood? What is something you can do to get to know those other believers better?
2. Have you prayed together for your neighborhood?
3. Is the Church as a whole unified right now?
4. What would biblically-based unity look like for our local area?
5. How do we pray for unity?

Application for the group (for a different meeting time):
Think of other believers in your neighborhood who you can connect with, to share the vision of what could be done in your neighborhood by an increased unity in the Body. Contact them and invite them to get to know each other better and/or pray together for the neighborhood.
